The Rush

I'vr been really busy and i'm feeling over worked, it's the time of year when you just want to go on vacation but you deside to stay because there's just to much work on your desk that needs to be finished.

Busy still till the end of this month, then my services to the working environment will be completed, also had some more site visits this week and it was really cool, it was enjoyed.

The world's just happy for the weekend...

Insane busy and Sick

So i've been really busy these last few weeks, with having the last block rushing work to get it done before the start of the 5th block, then we had a fun and knowledgeable 2 weeks at class and site.

Back at work now but at the same time the doctor booked me off sick, but there's just not enough time to be sick as well, really busy and not feeling well so this week must just disappear already.  

As the time goes

I've been finishing a lot of small projects these last few working days, and now started working on the designing of the big ones.

When i finish with plans the boss looks them over and I then continue with the printing, etc. The work got a bit overloaded so now we got another admin to help with all the paperwork and take over some of my admin duties (Printing, picking up plans deliver plans, etc.)

Tomorrow I'll be doing some more designing work to a house in Paardeberg and might get to design on the new 2000sq villa for our new client.

Things are becoming "Epic" and everything is good.

Clients

I'm getting a few hits on my website adverts, which means that im bringing projects in for the company and get 20% from each project. Other than that we are having big trouble with clients that's not paying for the work we did for them. It's hard working on plans for 3 months and people don't pay.

Otherwise we are really busy, because we are overloaded with work and cant get to everything, but it's really exiting to c everything we are working on, im gonna start designing and drawing additions for a spa which we can really be creative with...

August

I've been keeping busy, working on a poison store and office building on a farm in George and while i took a break from that i measured up an entire house for a client (they existing plans where lost and muni doesn't have a copy)because they want to build a boundary wall and extend their braai room.

After that i worked on house van Noordewyk in paardeberg, damn thing is big but i got it done up to the sections and stil busy with the notes on the elevations, just happy that the schedules are finished.

Starting redesigning the whole House van Wyk, again for the third time because clients cant afford or want something impossible and illegal.

The entire guest house we added a lot of additions on now they cant afford to build everything they wanted so we got to fit the whole second floor into the ground floor and take away some bedrooms.

We designed a vacation house for a client in Mosselbay and just as we finished the design and after countless meetings with them, they said they're not going to build it, so this morning they decided to continue with it and now we took in new work so we are overloaded again.

Really Really busy

I,ve been so busy lately and hardly get any time to breath at work, i'm stressed at work because i've got a mountain load of work and it just never stops.

Now i'm dying because this submission tomorrow and i,m to busy at work so can't get anytime to print anything, i'll have to find a way to sort this out...

Huge projects

I've been so busy these last few days and as a plus point I was sick the whole weekend :\ ...
For the last two weeks i've been designing and drawing and planning on this new project, for clients in Katoe or something, but the place is called D Olive Rose Geust house, a small 4 star guest house.
You can go see the website its a nice little place, doesnt look like much outside but its luxury on the inside.

Last of June

Been having so much work these last two weeks that I'm always tired and working till way past 5, only getting a raise next month, it's really sad.

This week I've spent most of my time on designing and I'm currently busy with an office on a farm and a guest house near Upington. Today and tomorrow I'll be helping with a new house design in Mosselbay and its going to be massive, I know that because it's going to have a theatre... (0.o)

This weekend I'll have to sleep at least an hour more than last weekend, this last 2 weeks were just way to cold for a body to function.

11 to 15 June

Last week started out nicely and Monday  and Tuesday felt really short because of all the work I had. I had a headache since the Sunday so I went to see the doctor on Wednesday and he gave me a load of pills and booked me off rest of the day.

Thursday and Friday I continued working House De Milander and finished everything up to the details. This week I've started by colouring and folding the last few sets of of House Groenewald and started with the electrical of House De Milander I'm nearly done with this project and then  I'll be moving on to the next new project in the next 2 days (hopefully)

Week at campus

Had a really fun week at campus, nice projects and nice seeing all of my classmates again after such a long time, nice to know how things are working on their side  of the world.

Back in the office this week and now I have an entire weeks work to catch up on, and it's not fun, this is what made me hate last week so much. I'm already dead tired, and I have loads of work, so much that I would like another week off.

Lets get this going and hope we survive.

Finishing projects

This week i was driving around a lot, about 4 hours of seeing clients and going to council, and every time the council needs some new documents to fill in. Eventually I got all the plans in, did some amendments on another plan and picked up all the aproved plans.

So i finished 4 As-Built plans this week and then started working on our biggest project. I finished all the Elevations of the house last week so this week I worked on the 2 existing sections and then started with 4 new ones.

Yesterday i finished some more changes the client had and fixed the changes on all the layouts, i finished with everything but 1 section.

Boss doesn't like the idea that i'm gone for a week, just hope this week will be helpful with something...

Cold week

This week started as a disaster, as my working laptop gave in, the nice thing was that i got to work at home from Monday till Wednesday. Wednesday we bought a new laptop and I installed all the needed software on it and working on a new pc is really nice.

This week I started by working on the elevations of House De Milander and after that I started an As Build drawing of House Luskey. Then I had to make a few changes to, House van Wyk, House Spinks and house Goss.

I finished all those projects today , because there were only a few minor changes to those projects. Then this afternoon I had to make some corrections on council drawings which took a while because there were 3 sets of plans of 11 A1 pages each. I had to change 3 things on each drawing so that took about 4hours and only finished work at 5.

Had a good and busy week so far and now I have to work on this Hub Project.

Busyness

This is the first morning I got in to work having to wait till the boss gets in, yesterday I printed plans picked up and delivered, must say getting out of the office every now and then is nice, some days i get to office and work straight through till 5.

I'm currently working on 2 projects House Goss and House vanWyk, their both additions. In the last month i finished about 4 projects, jumping between them the whole time as one is always more important than the other.

We finished designing 2 new houses, one is for plot and plan in Paardeberg and the other a new house in Durbanville, House De Milander. We're basically finished with the designing and basic plans for the house. In a few days i will be starting on the council drawings for the house.

Only thing I'm worring about, and i'm sure there's more people worring about it, is the progress we're making in our studies...

Good Times, Busy Times

The last few weeks I've been so busy, seeing clients, printing plans, driving everywhere, but the nice part is that i get paid extra per km. I've been doing a lot of work with "Lucas Quality Thatchers" as they have designed and built a few lapas for clients and then the clients needs plans for it. The only problem is that there is never just the one thing new, when i go do measurements there's always a few structures that need to be drawn up,

The house in Hermanus that i worked on we took the old thatch roof of and designed a second story with a new thatch roof . The only problem is that the previous owner of the site built on a braai room over the building lines and now we are sitting with the problem.

We are also busy with two massive new houses, the one i  mentioned earlier house De Milander and a new project in Paardeberg, I helped on the designing of the houses and now we started on municipal and 3D drawings.

I got a new co-worker that does all the new 3D work in the office so I don't do the 3D's any more, just sometimes helping him with a few things.

I'm still a bit sick after seeing 3 different doctors and then going for a sonar and they can't do anything about it, so now I just have to wait for it to go away by itself.

Seeing forward to next week and my pile of work on my desk...

Extreme Times

Really busy times, I designed House Bester last week so we'll send it in next week for council approval. After the drawing became corrupt twice for some reason I had to start it over both times and just as I'm finished the clients change something.

We also presented House De Milander and the client really liked it, but we are still changing the whole thing to make it a bit smaller, and we represented it yesterday, 11/04/2012 and a few small changes that I get to do today.

I also worked on a new design yesterday and today for a House in Paardeberg, but now we need to discuss a few things with the client before we go on with the design.

Really enjoyed the long weekend and the weather, i'd say it forced me to slow down and relax, in free time I also help with 3D design of houses and do some 3Ds of the houses that we do not really need them for...

This week is almost at an end, probably deliver some plans for clients tomorrow and print a few sets of plans for council... Hope you guys are still enjoying the work as well...

March complete

One busy month done, was really fun, i designed a house all by myself and helped on the designing of House De Milander. We presented both to the clients last week Thursday, and they were really impressed, but there will be a few changes made to make the design a bit smaller as house De Milander is about 400sqm and they want some areas smaller

Also sent a few drawings to clients and for council submission, hope this week goes well since we will be working on the changes and I'm starting with another new project, don't know what it is yet so hope is fun.

All the projects since the beginning of March, we started doing Project management for all the clients. so we are really busy calling people and having a lot and meetings, must say the pay more than triples, and i should earn some more monthly now.

So lets get his started, new week, new month, short week :D YAY We all know April is the best month...

Last 2 weeks

Start of another week, after having the block week and then this past week was a really busy week. Last week I finished the extentions of House Weister and started doing the presentation and council drawings of Option D for the new Plot and Plan for Rawson.

We also got a new house in Duranville and it should keep us busy for about 4 months, we started designing on the house last week Thursday, and today im also going to help with the design. One problem is that we might need another person in the office to help with the  workload we have, there's just a lot that needs to be done.

This week i need to really work hard on all the Rawson Plot and Plan drawings, there are 15 different designs and im about done with 3, in between i'll be working on the other 2 new houde designs...

Exiting Week

Had a really busy week, clients that cant decide what they want and changing things every 3 seconds, but in the end they decide," no we don't need the plans any more we are moving, I still made them pay the full fee :|

And worked on the council drawings of a new house in Langeberg Ridge, but people want a lot of things in small spaces and don't understand that its not possible, the house still looks good, also about finished with house  Horn and a extension on house Spinks

Started the redrawing of some very old plans on Friday, so will should continue working on that on Monday

The Sick Week

Week started very good as I was working on Council drawings for Option C1 and A2, then one of the guests at home made dinner and doctor booked me of for Tuesday and Wednesday, which made the my boss crazy because i was working on house Louw and Spinks.

Got back to office on Thursday and jumped into the deep end, still being sick :D
Working on Spinks this morning, might go to measure some details in Paarl
this morning.

Hope everybody sleeps well this weekend and get a lot of rest...

Another Week

What a long week that passed,
worked on only 2 projects this week,

House Louw is just a new TV room and a single garage
so that is pretty easy,

The other project is still the Rawson project
worked on 3 council drawings from each group of ideas,
we are having the 3 built as show houses so as soon as they are being build
I'll try to go take some pics when i go for site visits,
maybe you guys can buy some of the houses and increase
my pay. (just an idea)

Should finish with house Louw on Monday if it's on
the top of my list, otherwise I'll work on Rawson again,
3 types of designs and 11 sub options...

We might need some help, we are stuffed with work and
I'm really getting swamped with a lot of projects
Think we might pay per hour or something like that


So hope this is a successful week...

New Week

Started with some more council drawings this morning,
but really need some more sleep because of the
busy weekend that passed...

Finally took my car in for repair yesterday
so it would be about another month before it
will be completely stretched back to it's
normal shape... Just hope that everything gets fixed
so i don't have anymore problems with it...

And in other news.. I got a wrist brace because
it's just killing me

Well this should be a good week should finish about
6 of my 11 council submissions, depends on how
many small projects I get in between...

Back to the office

Finally back to the office, jumping into the deep end but it feels good,
it was fun to see everyone last week and hear all the
stories and trips they had...

Started on a new Rawson project this morning, so going to
be really busy this week...

Paper, Block 1

Working on paper designs, quickly busy updating blog a bit. Really
missing a lot at work can't wait to get back on the job this
monday, it's going to be one hell of a working week.

Nice weather in cape town, just the wind blowing everybody
around, it should be nice visiting Sea Point Park
later today, getting out of the building is what we look forward too.

Working Hard

Been working on this design for a client for a week now,
she keeps making changes to what she wants
and the things she wants to change is impossible

I've got a height restriction of 6500 from toc
and she wants windows on the first floor
but no dormer windows...
(and windows should not be too low)

Missing a lot of work this week.. We're starting
on 88 houses in Langebaan... Whoo hoo

30 January, Monday

Another new day at work, nice cool weather outside,
starting on council drawings today and maybe
do some 3D modeling on langebaan housing...

A guy that studied 3D designing  wants to ask us R3 000 for one 3D, (3 story house) but he works slower on a 3D then I do, so now im doing all the 3D work...
